The story of Eros and Psyche

The story of Eros and Psyche

He is handsome, charismatic, and he possesses an enormous raw life force, called libido. He is called Eros. As an adult, he still radiates the energy of a young boy, because his soul is still that. He is a boy-men with his feminine part in perfect balance. This is why he was so perfect and therefor the most beloved god among all the gods!

Our hero Eros, is the god who rules over the entire unconscious, known as the water through which every thought receives its vibrating charge. He comes from the skies, his father is Aries (he ruled over the planet Mars) a man who liked to create chaos and war and his mother is Aphrodite (she is the ruler over the planet Venus) she is responsible for spreading love and desire throughout the entire planet Earth. Eros was their golden son, they loved him the most of all their kids because he really looked and behaved like an angel, and so they give him the nickname the God of love.

He had his bow and arrows, and he was often bored. Then he liked to go to the planet Earth to observe the magnetic attraction on that small planet. He chose his victims based on perfect polarization and then shot his arrows at them. Or more precisely, he shot them into their hearts, and they were magnetically attracted to each other... they immediately felt a passionate and poetic love for one another. But humans consist of attraction and repulsion, so they can never truly come close to each other; they remain like molecules dancing around an invisible center, they are simultaneously attracted and repelled. Their hearts draw them toward each other with the desire for eternal love, but their psyches repel them with a detached, cold logic, and that is so intensely magical and fascinating, Eros naturally enjoyed observing them; it was exhausting for his victims, but then there always comes a day when they both believe they are destined for each other, and immediately the magnetic attraction between them stops repelling each other, and the whole dynamic disappears. Now they can indeed come closer together; they are freed from the curse. But that will never satisfy them, for it feels like being dead in a living body. Then they begin too long again for the dynamic of attraction and repulsion, but that will never return between them. Although it was exhausting, it also gave them a sense of true vitality and creativity. So they loved and hated being so cursed, loved, cherished, and doomed. This magnetism is the reason why they reproduce, so the role of Eros is very important; he ensures that this species does not go extinct. But it is also dangerous, because it sometimes awakens a dark force called 'jealousy'. If one of them starts the game of attraction and repulsion with someone else again, the survivor can become evil. No joke, really completely evil. These people of Earth are not very smart, for they should have known how this dynamic works long ago, but no, they just don't get it. The arrows are not meant to bring the victims together at all; the idea behind them is that they integrate the polarization of the other into themselves, so those arrows are only there to make them realize what they are missing, so that they can work on that, to become more complete. A complementary person can therefore take on all kinds of forms; it does not have to be a standard couple of a man and a woman. But people just don't understand it at all. They think they love someone, but the real colt truth is that they can only love themselves! Their own heart beats only for themselves; it is in their own body and does not beat for anyone else. But their heart can skip a beat, and they romanticize that. So funny, and they are always surprised when the archetype of a broken heart takes over their energy field and says: "Hey, here I am again!" But hearts don't break, never... they just make that up. Fools! They perform autopsies, so they have proof... no one ever really has a broken heart... So they have to deal with that energy called 'jealousy,' which invades their mind, takes over their body, a sense of revenge that made them feel a little bit better? No, not at all. But that is how this species thinks. It is as if they don't want to learn this; they would rather descend into some kind of dramatic nonsense, over and over again.

One day, three beautiful princesses dreamed about their future husbands. The first princess said: "My future husband will be just as handsome as I am, very rich, and he will shower me with the finest silk and the most beautiful jewels."

Princess number two said: "Well, my husband will be a famous general, and he will show me his most remarkable achievements."

"And you, Psyche," they asked the third princess, "what will your husband look like?"

"Hmm, well, I just want a love that uplifts my soul."

Her sisters laughed at her. They didn't quite understand her answer, but deep down they knew it was, of course, a very romantic answer, because Psyche is always half-dreaming...

Now, naturally, there was a wizard in her father's palace, nicknamed the Fox. And the Fox had set his sights on Psyche and wanted to become king of the realm. So he tried very hard to brew a magical, love-inducing potion for Psyche... and although that potion worked for a while, Psyche began to distrust the Fox's intentions, causing the potions to wear off every time. One day, when Psyche ran away from him yet again, the Fox was so furious that he grabbed her arm and cursed her right to her face: "There is no man on earth who would ever want to stay with you!"

Psyche was a somewhat special woman; she was very beautiful, perhaps not as beautiful as her sisters, but she had something more, you could say she was the embodiment of pure nature... her eyes were full of sparks and she radiated an enormous life force, she sparkled; it was not so much how she looked, but how she radiated, people could feel her presence. And even though she looked like an adult, animals and children treated her as equals, because she was not actually an adult. She never lost touch with the true essence of her soul, the aspect that never ages, and it is very rare to meet someone like her on such a dark planet as Earth. Her beauty was so natural because she was in perfect balance with her masculine and feminine aspects. Psyche, her name signified the aspect that represents profound thought, a masculine principle. She was therefore always in contact with the higher heavens. And thereby able to give meaning to life, and that was exactly what Psyche did: she was always searching for the meaning of life.

One day, Eros received a message from two women, two famous princesses.

“Hey Eros, we have a very suitable victim for you, our sister Psyche; we want to punish her because we are so jealous of her radiant beauty. We don't like that she attracts everyone's attention, and we've had enough of it. Will you shoot arrows at her heart so that she falls in love with an ugly guy, some hideous creature?" So that she doesn't steal our potential lovers from us?

Eros, who in part resembled his father, the god of war, found the request interesting and was willing to help the poor sisters.

And, you know, Eros was also very curious about that third princess. Those two princesses were so beautiful; how could anyone make them jealous? I really want to know why! So he visited Psyche while she slept—that is how he usually worked. He shot an arrow into her heart and saw how magnetic and beautiful she was; she seemed almost unappealing... He was so fascinated by her energy that he completely forgot he was holding the arrow meant for that ugly fellow, and he cut himself with the arrowhead. Very stupid, and even stupider was that it was exactly on the spot of his own heart. Yes, now he was cursed with his own medicine. The wounded god instantly fell in love with the young and beautiful mortal and was therefore no longer able to complete his mission.

But actually, secretly, he quite liked it...
He is a god, so he now visits her every night while she sleeps. He visited her in his spiritual form, that is, without his body, because he was afraid his mother would find out. Psyche adored him; she thoroughly enjoyed spending every night with him. She didn't know what he looked like, but she knew exactly how it felt to be with him; and she already loved him so incredibly much! She was intensely in love with him and considered herself the happiest girl on the entire planet.

But after a while, Eros wanted more than that... his heart, which of course had remained in Eros's body when he left, began to reproach him: "I want to go with you, please take me to Psyche... may I be with her too? Please?" Eros became a little desperate, and he, too, wanted to truly experience Psyche's body physically... so he said to her: "I am coming to you in my physical form, but you must never try to look at me or talk to me. Because then my mother might find out, and she will make sure that we will never be together again."

Psyche didn't quite understand what he was trying to tell her.

Because he could not simply explain the whole story to Psyche—namely, that his mother was the goddess of love, Aphrodite herself—and that she loved her son Eros so much that she wanted to keep him for herself forever. This was not entirely true, but to Eros, it felt that way. He had often tried to tear himself free from the suffocating grip of his mother's love. His mother, as a goddess, possessed extraordinary hearing and could therefore hear when someone whispered the words "I love you" to her son. She felt it in Eros's heart and looked through his eyes to see who it was, and subsequently deprived the person who loved her son of the ability to love him back. This then transformed that woman into a loveless, greedy, and above all jealous woman, whose sparkling beauty vanished in the blink of an eye. Eros had tried everything, but his mother had always outsmarted him.

He had eventually resigned himself to the fact that he was better off protecting the women his heart longed for from the pain his mother would inflict upon them. And that was why Eros had managed to never fall in love again. But now he was struck by his own medicine, and he simply could no longer get Psyche out of his heart and mind. His heart wanted to be with Psyche.

Psyche thought: "I probably shouldn't see what he looks like, because maybe he isn't all that handsome?"

Psyche woke up in the middle of the night because she felt Eros's real body sliding beside her. It was the most wondrous moment Psyche had ever experienced. He was with her, around her, and she smelled him, felt his skin, tasted him, experienced him. And she was driven crazy with curiosity... everything about him was oh, intensely heavenly. Why shouldn't she be allowed to see him? But she still held back from secretly looking at what he looked like.

After the third night that he appeared beside her in bed in his true form, she could no longer restrain herself. She *had* to know what he looked like. Who was this magical man whom her heart loved so intensely? And why would his mother ever find out? So she lit the lamp, an oil lamp, pushed the sheets aside, and shone the small, flickering flame over his divine body. She stood rooted to the spot, breathless, staring at the most beautiful man she had ever seen. There he lay, sleeping like a god, unaware that he truly was one. She whispered in his ear: "I love you so very much." And in her carelessness, a small drop of hot oil fell onto his chest.

Eros woke up with a start, the forbidden words still echoing in his head, and he fled in panic, fervently hoping that his mother would not discover who the woman was whom he loved so much. But his mother knew, of course, and she was furious.

To protect his psyche from the revenge of his mother, Eros never visited her again in his physical form, but he did still come every night, though only as his spirit.

But sure enough, Aphrodite found out; damn it, she was furious. Because Aphrodite rules over love, she has access to the subconscious of those humans—the field that connects them all on that planet.

And there was also something else at play: Eros’s mother was the goddess Aphrodite, and for centuries she had been worshiped by humans for beauty and love. But Aphrodite had not been worshipped by earthly beings for quite some time, for they now worshipped a daughter, a mortal child of some kind of king, and her name was Psyche. So Eros’s mother had already become extremely jealous of this girl. And now it turned out that her own flesh and blood son was in love with this very same being, her rival, and this made her intensely furious.

One day, while Psyche was enjoying her psychedelics, Aphrodite crept into Psyche's psyche and planted all the jealous thoughts of all the women who had ever loved her Eros, in her head, and as you know, they had all become false. And now Psyche was tormented from within by a hell of lies, so intense that our dear Psyche seemed to be succumbing to it. At first, Psyche did not want to hear the stream of words; she resisted fiercely. She tried to escape it by using her imagination to give everything a rosy tint. But that only etched the words deeper into her memory. Escape was impossible. And eventually, it drove her completely mad.

She started talking to herself out loud, as if she was crazy, and forgot to give the people around her the kind attention she normally took for granted. She even began to hate meeting people. She tried to avoid everyone and snapped at them when she ran into them. And the people in her father's kingdom really thought that Psyche had gone completely mad. At least, that is how it seemed for a while; eventually, Psyche believed every hostile word buzzing through her head and became completely distraught. Sentences like: "You will never be good enough for him; no matter how perfect you think you are, he will never choose you." They really pulled out all the stops, causing Psyche to doubt herself immensely. "He has so many other lovers," "You are just another one," "You mean absolutely nothing to him." And who do you think you are? You are a disgrace to humanity, you don't even know what work is, you are useless, and you call yourself a princess? You are just incredibly lazy. You think you are special, don't you? You are a parasite, what do you have to offer the world? Please make yourself useful! You are such an insignificant figure! "You know, his heart is already destined for someone with real flair, be wise and just forget about him, there is no room for you in his heart." And then followed a whole series of personal criticism. Psyche now accepted everything she heard as truth, because she thought these were her own thoughts. The psychedelics had long worn off, but her psyche continued to torment her for weeks, until eventually not a shred of self-confidence remained.

Then, one morning, a thought shot through Psyche's head: "Hey, wait a minute, am I really thinking this myself?" This small, innocent thought planted itself like a seed in her mind... and it took root. From that moment on, Psyche began to question every humiliating thought, and that was a turning point. Is this what I am thinking actually true? Is it really my truth? Do I really believe this? Why would I think this way about myself, what does this say about me? I know that normally I have very different thoughts. Psyche was surprised and became curious about what was actually going on inside her head. Hey, it looks like other people have crept into my head. And the more Psyche thought about this, the clearer her own mind became. And so, little by little, she succeeded in rediscovering her own clear, sincere, pleasant, infinite own thoughts. And the thunderstorm of Aphrodite and the exes slowly disappeared, like clouds before the sun. And in Psyche's psyche, the sun began to shine again; she had regained control over her head; it was now her own fine, happy psyche she was dealing with again. What a relief.

Many years later…

In Psyche’s palace, everyone is slowly growing older. Her sisters have been married to the men of their dreams for years now, and although Psyche was the most beautiful and beloved princess, she remained of course unmarried. She never found the man of her dreams, and her broken heart never healed. It is cruel, but there is no greater pain on this planet than the feeling of a broken heart inflicted by an arrow of Eros. But for Psyche, it was not only her heart that felt broken; a part of her consciousness also remained with Eros, because it still belonged to him. So she lived her life with a half-broken heart. She had only a little of those beautiful, sparkling eyes left, and she was still sweet to everyone who met her, but secretly she fervently hoped that her life would end soon; it was too unbearable for her to drag herself through life like this. Her father saw that she was in pain and said: "Do not worry, my daughter. Your beauty may well be overwhelming to some men, but a suitable marriage candidate for your heart will soon appear." But the king was indeed very worried about his daughter's situation.

The king could never have suspected that the god of love himself had fallen in love with his most special daughter. Naturally, Eros had not shot any arrows to bind a mortal husband to her, for his own heart would not allow it...

Years passed, and the king had become desperate. He therefore went to the Oracle of Delphi in search of answers.

The god Apollo himself answered through the oracle: "Your daughter will marry a wicked winged monster that takes pleasure in harming both mortals and gods. The princess will be left in her mourning at the edge of the abyss, where she will be handed over to this terrible creature that will take her to the afterlife." The sun god Apollo was not exactly charmed by our hero Eros, because he had caused the god of music unrequited love. Therefore, he did not want to speak of him affectionately.

The king left the temple in tears. He resisted the thought of losing his beloved daughter, but Psyche's jealous sisters forced him to follow the oracle's instructions: "You must sacrifice Psyche, otherwise you will bring the wrath of the gods upon yourself and disaster will befall our kingdom, father." The king told Psyche of this sad fate: "My beloved daughter, by the will of the gods we will assign you a terrible fate." The princess's funeral procession was deeply saddened, while Psyche remained brave, for it was too unbearable for her to live, She said: "Take me up the cliff now and let me go to meet my grim fate." Psyche was left behind at the edge of the abyss, waiting for her faith the terrible husband. A breeze lifted Psyche into the air. This wind came from the goddess Zephyr, also known as the west wind. She floated through the air, into the heavens, on her way to her destination.

Carried by a soft, damp breeze, Psyche awoke in an idyllic, colorful, lush garden, full of flowers that emitted a delightful, sensual, nectar-like scent and enchanted her senses with an untamable, natural sensuality that filled the air. A breathtaking palace breathed the atmosphere of a passionate adventure. The whitest marble contrasted with the vibrant landscape. Psyche climbed the stairs to the palace entrance and was stunned by the wealth that surrounded her. The place was filled with striking luxury, seductive with a forbidden allure. Decorations were everywhere; everything was covered in gold. When she entered the palace, she heard a soft voice, but she could not place its source. "Madam, everything you see now belongs to you. We are at your disposal to assist you with anything you desire." There was no one else around her, so Psyche understood that they were invisible servants, helping her with bathing, preparing her meals, and playing beautiful songs for her. As a princess, she was undoubtedly accustomed to some luxury, but this was truly everything!

Naturally, she felt uneasy, for the thought flashed through her mind that she had ended up in a monster's palace. She was taken to her room and told that she had to wait for her master. "Who is your master, a monster, right?" she asked. Well, not really, but not everyone is always happy with him, which is why he is sometimes portrayed as evil, but in reality, he is not.

When darkness enveloped the sky, Psyche received a gift. It was a cloak, given to her by the goddess of the night, Nyx. This cloak hypnotized Psyche with the miraculously airy, soft silk that she felt gliding through her fingers. It was an enchanting pattern of intertwined hexagrams that held her completely captive as she admired it. Meanwhile, the room grew completely dark and someone entered through the window. She sensed his proximity because she felt his breath on her neck. A thought flashed through her mind: is this the monster? But she remained deeply relaxed, because her nervous system already knew it, so she surrendered completely to him. There was no doubt; she knew his energy field through and through. This is the man I have longed for my entire life. Psyche knew it with her whole being, he really is the one… my Eros.

And now you can imagine what they did together that night and the many nights that followed…

Of course, Aphrodite had not overcome her jealousy for Psyche and wouldn't let her precious son be with this woman that easily. still sought revenge. The goddess called Psyche to two of her attendants, Sorrow and Worry, to torture her, not knowing that she was bearing a child.
Next, Aphrodite devised Psyche's first task: she threw an abundance of different seeds down before the young girl and asked her to sort them into piles before sunrise. That seemed impossible, but after the goddess had left, an ant, taking pity on Psyche, gathered a group of ants to help her. Thanks to their expertise and hard work, they managed to sort the seeds by type before the sun rose. When Aphrodite returned and saw the piles, she became furious. "You did not finish your work," she said.

The next morning, Aphrodite devised a new, dangerous task: Psyche had to cross a river and retrieve golden wool from the wild sheep of the god Helios that were grazing on the other side. Once again, the girl was lucky, for a divine reed saved her by telling her that she had to collect wool that had remained hanging in branches after the sheep had fallen asleep.

For the third task, Aphrodite gave Psyche a crystal vase. "Do you see that black water flowing down from the hill?" “Those are the rivers Styx and Cocytus. Fill this bottle with some black water from their source,” said the goddess. Upon arriving at the waterfall, Psyche realized that the surrounding rocks were smooth and steep. The water plunged down such abrupt rocks that only a winged creature could reach it. And indeed, an eagle appeared and helped her; it snatched the bottle from her hands with its beak, filled it with some black water, and returned it to her. The bird had actually been sent by Zeus, who took pity on the poor girl.

The final task Aphrodite devised required Psyche to visit the Underworld and ask Persephone, the queen of the dead, to let a little of her beauty run into a box. Desperate about her fate, Psyche climbed a tower to fall. Suddenly, the tower began to speak and advised her to travel to Sparta and find a place called Tainaron, where the entrance to the Underworld is located. She followed the orders from the tower, went through the gates, and took the boat to the other side, where the dead used to depart. She gave Charon money to help her find her way to Persephone's palace in the dark. The boatman indeed helped her, and after a while, she stood right before Persephone. When she asked her to put a drop of her beauty into the box, Persephone was happy to serve Aphrodite. Psyche took the box and returned to earth. However, a curiosity to open the box overwhelmed her. She could not resist the urge to open the box and increase her own beauty, so she opened it but found nothing inside. Suddenly, she fell asleep.

The happy ending Meanwhile, Eros had escaped from his mother's house and went looking for Psyche. When he found her, he dispelled the mysterious sleep from the girl and put it back in the box. Then he lifted Psyche up and brought her to Aphrodite to give her the box. Eros then goes to the king of the gods, hoping that he will help the couple escape his mother's wrath. Zeus agrees to help the young man and sends Hermes to convene a meeting of the gods. There, Zeus orders Aphrodite to surrender and has Psyche drink ambrosia so that she and Eros can marry.

From that moment on, Eros and Psyche lived happily together in their beautiful palace, which was always filled with roses and other flowers. Even Aphrodite was happy, for now that Psyche lived in heaven with her son, the men on earth had completely forgotten her and worshiped the true goddess of beauty once again.

were again worshiping the true goddess of beauty.

And so she was accepted as an equal of the gods, and they decided that she could take over the task of the goddess Nyx, so that Psyche could rule over the grid that shapes all matter. Matter means the molecules, the mud, the matrix; they call her the new ruler of darkness. Because the gods believe that she knows better than anyone else what constructions are needed in order to best serve the earth beings.

Now, Psyche had sat on her throne beside Eros for centuries, and had tried from above to help people shape their lives, but Psyche had come to the conclusion that she had begun to feel quite powerless. For people seemed to be stuck in a loop of unhappiness, and she knew that this was actually completely unnecessary. People looked at what was, and if they were not happy with what was, they put all their energy into complaining about what they were so fed up with, whereas what they put their energy into is what they create. So unconsciously, people kept creating more and more of what they did not want, and Psyche knew that she could only show people how to make the Matrix work for them instead of against them. So she had decided to return to planet Earth as a normal human being in a mortal human form. Her mission was to teach people, to let them experience it, to show them how, with their imagination and their dearest memories, how they could make the grid, the Matrix, in order to create a life that would remain truly loving and fruitful.

Eros understood Psyche's frustration completely, but he could not give up his post beside his mother in heaven; however, because he was like water, the unconscious, he would accompany her in all her duties from heaven. And so it came about that Psyche returned to Earth, even though centuries had passed. When Psyche opened her eyes, she lay at the foot off the cliff in her shroud; she had a broken leg and many bruises. She cried out for help, and her father, in deep tears, was just about to go home when he heard her and rushed back to see if he had not imagined her voice. But she lay there in the flesh, truly alive; how grateful he was, and so they took her back home.

Her first mission was her embittered sisters. Psyche understood that her sisters' deceit stemmed from their own insecurity, and she succeeded in making them see that. She was also able to explain to them that they did not need to be ashamed of their behavior, because even the goddess of love was burdened with exactly the same insecurities, and that this energy is part of the creation of the universe. An energy that could spur people and gods to become a better version of themselves; what you are insecure about simply lies within your own shortcomings, and as long as you think that someone else is responsible for that, you are shortchanging yourself and remain insecure. From now on, these sisters continued to help Psyche fulfill her mission, and everyone who had dealings with Psyche learned how the grid worked and how they could transform it.

Like a positive virus, Psyche spread her knowledge across the entire planet. They created an incredibly healthy atmosphere and, in doing so, set the water connected to their unconscious pulsating. This resonated in everyone's psyche and functioned as a new beating heart that bestowed new life force upon the entire planet. She taught people how to work with this pulsating energy and described it as surfing on the waves. Everyone on Earth feels the beating again, and this has a liberating effect on their emotions. As a result, every individual becomes the best version of themselves. And this is the beginning of true abundance. They changed the name of the planet from Earth to Planet Water-Earth. And people are now called Water-Earth dwellers. Every living being knows that Eros, the water, connects them to one another, and that Psyche, the earth, gives them their life. Psyche and Eros are together every night in the unconscious field and are deeply in love, and every day Psyche works on healing the energetic grid and Eros on the connections between people. In this way, together they create a paradise on Earth. And the people understood that if they were grateful for what they had, with that gratitude they created a vibration that helped Psyche and Eros to create the most loving planet in the universe: Planet Water-Earth. And they were grateful, to the deepest part of their being.
